Roaring Brook Township's Municipal Offices are open Monday thru Friday, from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. And, the first and third Saturday of the month (Recycling Saturdays) from 9:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M.
The Board of Supervisors' meetings are typically held the first Thursday of each month. The Agenda is prepared the Tuesday morning prior to each meeting. If you wish to be placed on the Agenda, contact the Township Office, Dale Baird, by the Monday morning prior to each meeting.

A Building Permit is required for the following (not all inclusive) as set forth in the Zoning Ordinances....
- Construction or demolishing any building or structure over 100 square feet in size
- A patio deck
- A swimming pool
- Removal or installation of a mobile home
- An advertising sign
Building Permit Fees. The Fee Schedule details the costs associated with Building Permit.

Building Permit is not required for the following (not all inclusive):
- Roof repair or replacement
- Sidewalk installation
- Window replacement
You may apply for a Building Permit at the Township Office during normal business hours -- Monday thru Friday, from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. And, the first and third Saturday of the month (Recycling Saturdays) from 9:00 A.M. until 11:30 A.M.

All property assessments are handled
by the Lackawanna County Tax Claim Bureau. Any questions should be directed to the Tax Claim Bureau by calling (570) 963-6734.

Police services
- handled by the Roaring Brook Police Department by calling 911 for all emergencies and 342-9111 for non- emergency services.
The Pennsylvania State Police (Dunmore Barracks) provide police coverage when the Roaring Brook Twp Police are not on duty - call 911 for all emergencies 963-3156 for non-emergency services.
Fire services
- handled by the Elmhurst/Roaring Brook Twp Fire Company. by calling 911 for all emergencies and 342-9111 for non- emergency services.
Roaring Brook and Elmhurst Townships does NOT have a fire
tax. The volunteer fire company relies on donations and various fund raisers to financially support this highly skilled fire and rescue service operation.
Ambulance Services -
Basic life support ambulance service is provided by Moscow Community Ambulance by calling 911 for all emergencies
These services are provided to Roaring Brook Township by personnel and equipment responding from the Moscow Fire Station located at North Main Street in Moscow.
Definitive treatment for life threatening emergencies, including IVs, drugs, airway management and heart defibrillation are only minutes away for residents of Roaring Brook Township. Emergency medical treatment is provided by Advanced Life Support paramedics and emergency medical technicians dispatched by the Lackawanna County Communication Center.The paramedic then rides with the patient and emergency medical technician on the ambulance to the hospital.

Have a refuse hauler collect trash at your home.
Roaring Brook Township has a Recycling Program. To aid you in collecting your recyclable materials pick up a recycling
container at the Township Building, Blue Shutters Road. Their is no cost for the container. Recyclable materials may
be taken to our Recycling Center any Recycling Saturday from 9:30 A.M.until 11:30 A.M. There is no charge for this service. The Center is located just behind the Township Offices along Blue Shutters
Road. Please enter and exit in the appropriate driveways that are signed accordingly.

The Roaring Brook Township Sewer Authority underwent an upgrade in 1999 in order to provide sewer service to parts of our community. All questions should be directed to the Roaring Brook Township Sewer Authority by calling (570) 842-6080.
If you are
considering building on lands that would require an on-lot sewer system,
you should first contact the Township's Sewage Enforcement Officer
and have the required testing performed. Contact our offices
